This has been a long year. In January, I was keen to get in and train my horses and myself for a big year of barrel racing. By March, my horses were fit and ready to run for the new season with Queensland Barrel Racing Association. We managed to get in a couple of events before we had to close down due to Covid-19.

During the time we had off, I concentrated on my young horses that needed breaking in and getting going. I also focused on completing my Emmett Levels to become a fully trained Emmett Therapist.

As each month went by, I kept hoping that covid would slide back into its hiding hole, so we could get back to competing. On the 11th July when restrictions were lifted, we had our first competition back hoping it wasn’t the last and we would still be able to have our finals held at the end of September. As it turned out, we run every weekend up until our finals, where I won the QBRA End of Year 4D buckle and my horse “Lagoona Instant Playgirl” won the 4D high point horse for the year.

Next year is already shaping up to be a big one for me. I am planning on taking my young horses out and about to witness the barrel racing scene and continue their education as well as competing on my seasoned horses. I would like to get out and about to treat/help horses using the Emmett theory.
