“Remi Stud has been the home of internationally bred Hanoverians for nearly 20 years, but a new dimension has been added to their business with the purchase of 2 wonderful Hanoverian stallions from Germany. In 2005 Remi Stud was delighted to have purchased the sensational Hanoverian stallion, Fishermans Friend (Fabriano/Penny Lane by Pik Solo/Pik Bube I), a beautiful dark brown 169cm stallion.

'Fish' needs no introduction in Australia now, having been selected on the international FN Index for the top 5% of Dressage Stallions in his first year of breeding. This breeding ranking is an indicator for performance heritabililty of a sire. Fish has a very strong chance of passing on his excellent genetics with respect to conformation, movement and rideability/trainability under saddle.
This has shown to be correct, as with only 3 breeding seasons in Australia now, he has already produced the champion Hanoverian Foal in Australia in both 2006 & 2007 as well as siring the Champion Foal at the Hanoverian Mare Show in 2007, amongst many other awards given to his foals. Fish also Sired Finja, the Spanish National 5Y/O Young Horse Champion in 2007.Prior to his importation, Fish was the leader of the Hanoverian Dressage Quadrille at the State Stud in Celle, Germany and in Australia has already won the NSW & HHSA Medium Champion 2006, the EFA (QLD) Advanced Champion 2007, the Sydney CDI Advanced Champion 2008, and is now successfully competing at EFI level, already having won Prix St George and Inter I Champion at recent competitions. Together with his rider, Tore Van Den Berge, their aim is to be selected to represent Australia at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, USA in 2010. they is well on the way to achieving this goal!!
To follow on from the wonderful success of Fish, Remi Stud has now purchased another Hanoverian stallion Lauries As (Londonderry/St Pr St. Pik Lady), he is 6yr old, black, 17hh, and has already won multiple competitions in Germany. He has recently qualified for the World Young Horse Championship together with the Bundeschampionate with his rider in Germany Joern Kubelke. They anticipate an exciting dressage career in Australia in 2009
Remi Stud believes in their young mares going under saddle prior to having a foal, so all young mares are trained for the Hanoverian Mare Performance Test each year, following which they become 'ladies of leisure' until they have had their foals. For those uninitiated the performance test involves the mares completing a riding test, free jumping and riding by a Test Rider. The end result of these components gives a final score (the same as the stallions receive in their performance tests), which enables us, the breeder to select a suitable stallion for the mare. Remi Stud has been fortunate, breeding the Australia Champion of the Mare Performance Test for the past 5 years. This is the selection criteria used at Remi Stud, and what results in producing such exciting internationally bred Hanoverians.
