Leadburn Lodge - Amy Zeller
Leadburn Lodge was started in the early 80's by Amy's parents Col & Annette Zeller as a Palomino & Thoroughbred stud. However when she started competing in the dressage arena, their focus moved to performance horses specifically bred for dressage.
At six years old Amy was already collecting ribbons from gymkhanas on her trusty pony Star. She progressed on to Combined Training and claimed many wins and placing interschool competitions. A fellow rider suggested she take dressage lessons to help with her showjumping, not knowing the impact this would have on Amy's riding direction.
Amy focused solely on dressage from 1997 with the help of a thoroughbred Candour's Son, this pair was selected in to the QLD Young Rider Squad in 1998. She soon progressed onto Warmbloods with the purchase of Roshelly in 1998, who went from Preliminary through to Prix St George under Amy.
In 1999 Amy bred FW Marrianne (Falkland/Daktylus/Monopol) Via frozen semen to Rotspon ( Rubenstein) and produced a stunning black colt Leadburn Rotstein, the first Rotspon to be born in Australia! 2003 saw Rotstein win the QLD 4 year old Young Horse Championships, and he was only a 3 year old!!! Impressive.
Rotstein's first crop of foals hit the ground in 2005, and show a striking resemblance to him with regard to temperament, Movement and looks!! What more could you want.Amy is now focused on reaching FEI with Leadburne Rotstein.
